2014.08.21 AD - To know a woman’s heart.

Good morning. This is Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi.
Here’s today’s thought of the day; come on!

"To say one knows women without having been a lover is like a man who says he knows fish from merely casting a line at a river bank."[1]

[BGM ‘Natsu no Namae’]

There sure are a lot of fishing comparisons out there, huh? (laughs)

This is a quote by the 19th century French novelist Jules Renard-san. Men-folk out there, do you really understand women? Do you pretend like you know all about them? Do you sit around while having a drink going, "Now, as for women…"?

Man, women. What’s the difference between women and men, I wonder? What is it? Women.

Um, like, from what I hear, there are those people who put on their makeup while commuting on trains, right? They’re not doing it for men to look at, but for their fellow women. Apparently it’s very much about being seen by other women lately. So it’s not like it matters if men see them (putting on makeup) on the train. I guess it’s probably more about their friends and colleagues. And like to feel pretty for themselves. I was like, Hehhh~ So fellow women boost them up.

So that’s why they do it on the train? I’ve seen it before, long ago. Um, on the train, just suddenly right before my eyes, she started putting on her makeup. And then I was just watching the whole time as she spread cosmetics on her face. It was probably the same sort of feeling as how she did it at home. She was re-enacting it on the train. She really didn’t pay any heed to her surroundings at all.

But it’s really skilful. I mean, it’s swaying inside a train, right? But, um, for the eyes, um, that line thing, she used the shaking of the train to help draw the line. When I saw that, I thought it was pretty amazing. Ah, so that’s how it’s done!

And then they do it exactly in time. Like probably they finish just a little while before they have to get off and they pack up and get out. And then when they get off the train, ahh… (laughs) I think it’s kinda like an art.

But I wonder if that’s about whether women can see them. I mean, I was sitting opposite her by myself and just staring the whole time. So it wasn’t about whether men could see her. Heh, it’s kinda interesting.

I’d kinda like to hear about that. Please teach me about women’s hearts! (laughs) Yeah, like how women think in a certain way at certain times. Let’s take submissions about times when men aren’t around.

That’s all; this was Ohno Satoshi!

[1] As usual, can’t find the original source for this quote. Any light you can cast on this much appreciated!

So, I actually have that Arashi in National Stadium 2008-2013 photobook yet I really don’t skim/scan/look/stare/cry over it because of college (screw college forever lol) and now there are so many posts about it…

Well, I’m astonished because THERE ARE SO MANY PERFECT PHOTOS OF ARASHI AND I JUST CAN’T HANDLE MY FEELS OMG. Oh well, maybe I just check out that photobook (plus I don’t have classes today yatta) and try my best not to cry.

P.S. I’ve always wanted to bring my photobook at school but I can’t because the book’s too thick plus people in my school don’t know/appreciate J-pop that much plus I can feel that they’ll make fun of Arashi when they see the photobook.
